Yesterday, our organization conducted an outreach program at Mishi Mboko Primary School, where we had the opportunity to reach out to 100 students. The focus of our program was on students in grades 7 and 8, and we covered three key topics that we believe are crucial for their personal and academic development.
The first topic we addressed was the effects of drugs and substance abuse. We wanted to educate the students on the dangers of these substances and empower them to make informed decisions to stay away from them. Our goal is to equip them with the knowledge and skills to resist peer pressure and make healthy choices for their future.
The second topic we discussed was how to avoid juvenile gang groups. We wanted to raise awareness about the negative impact of getting involved in such groups and provide strategies for staying away from them. By empowering the students to make positive choices and surround themselves with supportive peers, we hope to steer them away from potential dangers and towards a path of success.
Lastly, we focused on how to remain focused on academics and excel in the future. We believe that education is a powerful tool for empowerment and that by encouraging students to prioritize their studies and set goals for themselves, they can achieve great things. By instilling a sense of determination and perseverance in the students, we aim to help them become role models in their community and inspire others to follow in their footsteps.
At LICODEP, we are committed to providing mentorship and guidance to the youth in our community. We believe that just as every tree needs a sturdy stake to grow straight and tall, students need support and guidance to reach their full potential. The active participation of the students during our program was inspiring, and we were pleased to see them engaging with the topics and sharing their thoughts and experiences.
Overall, our outreach program at Mishi Mboko Primary School was a success, and we are grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of these students. We look forward to continuing our work in the community and empowering more young people to strive for success and become leaders in their own right.
